Model: Credor GCBP991 Phoenix Kumakawa LE of 200

Overview:

Widely regarded among collectors as a neo-vintage Credor grail, the GCBP991 is a limited edition mechanical chronograph that represents one of the earliest and most important chapters in Credor’s modern mechanical history.

With bold yellow sub dials ( Credor's signature colour at the time ) contrasted with a glossy black dial and red tipped secondhand, many aspects of this watch stands out as an icon.

History:

Released in 1999 as a JDM Kumakawa Limited Edition of just 200 pieces, the GCBP991 belongs to the Credor Phoenix series one of the brand’s first ventures into high-end automatic sports watches.

Founded in 1974, Credor (from the French “Crête d’Or,” meaning “the ultimate of gold”) was originally focused on artistic, precious metal dress watches. It was not until the late 1990s that Credor began integrating high-end mechanical movements into more contemporary designs, with the Phoenix line marking a pivotal shift for the brand.
