History:
Released in 2003 as part of the SBCJ Alpinist series, the SBCJ021 is one of the most distinctive variations within the lineup.
It remains the only full titanium Alpinist with a fully lumed dial since the line’s inception in the 1960s. Like other SBCJ models, it is powered by Seiko’s advanced 8F56 GMT Perpetual Calendar movement and is one of the few to feature the “Alpinist” text on the dial.

The movement tracks the month, date, and leap years internally. By pulling out and pushing back the crown, the seconds hand indicates the number of years since the last leap year, while the date hand advances to display the current month.
