Seiko Presage SARY087 “Starlight,” the first cocktail time limited edition released alongside the Sakura Fubuki
The centerpiece is its mesmerizing navy-blue gradient dial, featuring an intricate stamped texture designed to evoke countless stars shimmering across the night sky. The texture radiates outward from the center and reacts dramatically to light, transitioning from an almost black midnight blue to brilliant metallic shades of blue as the viewing angle changes.
Unlike the simpler SARY085 Starlight, the SARY087 is powered by the more complicated Caliber 4R57, adding both a central power-reserve display and pointer-date complication.
History:
Released in Japan on November 17, 2017, the SARY087 was part of a special series developed in collaboration with Hisashi Kishi, owner and head bartender of the renowned STAR BAR in Ginza.
The dial takes its inspiration from the “Starlight” cocktail and the image of a night sky filled with countless shimmering stars. Seiko created this effect through a finely stamped dial pattern combined with a navy gradient finish, producing considerably more depth than a conventional sunburst dial.

The SARY087 is one of the standout limited editions from the Cocktail Time collection, pairing one of Seiko’s most visually impressive blue dials with the more complicated 4R57 movement.
The Starlight dial is particularly difficult to capture in photographs. Under subdued lighting it can appear almost midnight blue, while direct light reveals the intricate stamped texture and much brighter metallic shades, creating the impression of light radiating across a night sky.
