History:
Released around 2017-2018 as part of Seiko’s Presage enamel series, the limited edition SARX059 features a hand-crafted Shippo enamel dial produced by master craftsman Wataru Totani of Ando Cloisonné Co., a specialist workshop founded in 1880.
The dial is created through a meticulous process of repeated firing and glazing, resulting in a rich blue surface with intricate guilloché-like textures beneath the enamel. The rippling pattern is designed to evoke the movement of water, giving the dial a sense of depth and fluidity.
This level of artisanal work is often compared to enamel dials seen in higher-end brands, making the SARX059 particularly notable within Seiko’s lineup.
