Overview:
The discontinued Seiko Presage SARX047 is a distinctive JDM model from the late 2010s, combining a sharply angular stainless-steel case with an unusually intricate greenish-blue textured dial.
The centerpiece of the watch is its tapestry-like dial pattern, which creates a pronounced sheen as it catches the light. Depending on the surroundings, the dial can transition between dark green, teal and blue tones, giving the SARX047 considerably more visual depth than a conventional sunburst finish.
History:
The SARX series represented the more premium side of Seiko’s mechanical Presage collection, positioned above the brand’s entry-level mechanical watches through improved case finishing, sapphire crystals and higher-grade 6R-series movements.
The SARX047 belongs to a particularly interesting generation of Presage from the late 2010s, before the collection adopted many of the designs seen in the current catalogue. Now discontinued, its combination of an angular case and unusual tapestry dial gives the reference an identity quite different from both earlier SARB models and subsequent Presage releases.
