Seiko SAGV007 “HAQ Perpetual Calendar Big Date”
Model: Seiko SAGV007 “HAQ Perpetual Calendar Big Date”
Overview:
Often considered the grail of the SAGV series, the SAGV007 is a highend Brightz model featuring a sunburst beige dial with an advanced Kinetic perpetual calendar movement featuring a big date display.
SAGV007 was the only SAGV variant with these angular case variations to not come with a titanium bracelet.
History:
Released in the early 2000s as part of Seiko’s JDM Brightz lineup, the SAGV007 shares the same technical foundation as the SAGV005 while offering a more understated and versatile black dial execution.
The watch features a titanium case paired with a multi-complication layout, including a big date display, leap-year indicator, month display, and 24-hour sub-dial. The darker dial enhances contrast across the complications, improving legibility while maintaining a refined aesthetic.
Positioned within the premium segment of the Brightz range, the SAGV007 reflects Seiko’s focus on combining advanced quartz-based technology with practical everyday usability.

Movement Details:
The 7D48 is a Kinetic movement, combining mechanical energy generation with quartz accuracy. Motion from the wearer powers an internal rotor, which charges a capacitor to run the quartz movement.
It also features a hibernation function — when left unused, the hands stop to conserve energy, and upon movement, they automatically jump back to the correct time, maintaining accuracy without manual resetting.
