Seiko Prospex Alpinist SPB339J1, commonly known as the “Dragon Alpinist,” an exceptionally scarce regional Alpinist produced in a limited edition of only 500 pieces.
Released exclusively for the Chinese market, the SPB339J1 is immediately distinguished by its spectacular Glacier Blue textured dial. The icy, heavily textured surface has considerable depth and shifts dramatically under different lighting, ranging from pale glacial blue to much deeper blue and occasionally violet tones.
With only 500 examples produced, the SPB339J1 is also one of the more limited modern Prospex Alpinist releases.

The SPB339J1 is one of the more visually striking regional Alpinists Seiko has produced. While its architecture is immediately recognizable as a modern Alpinist, the Glacier Blue dial completely changes its character. Its heavily textured surface interacts brilliantly with light, with both the color and apparent depth of the dial changing depending on viewing angle.
More importantly for collectors, this was not a broadly distributed Prospex release. The SPB339J1 was produced specifically for the Chinese market in a run of just 500 pieces, making it substantially scarcer than most modern Alpinist limited editions.
