Released around 2017 as part of Seiko’s Presage artisan dial series, the SARW039 features a hand-crafted Shippo enamel dial produced by master craftsman Wataru Totani of Ando Cloisonné Co., a specialist manufacturer founded in 1880.
The dial is created through a meticulous process of repeated firing and glazing, resulting in a deep blue surface with intricate guilloché-like textures beneath the enamel. The rippling pattern is designed to reflect the movement of water, giving the dial a sense of depth and fluidity.
This level of craftsmanship is often compared to enamel work seen in higher-end brands, making the SARW039 a standout within Seiko’s Presage lineup.
